In the late sixties Wijnne & Barends’ airfreight began with handling aircraft. Due to the growth in handling requests the company decided to move to Groningen Airport Eelde. This happened in the early eighties. A second name was brought into life especially for handling: Groundservice Groningen Airport. In 2002 SIG Real Estate took over Groundservice Groningen Airport and our name changed into SIG Groundservice Handling & Airfreight. Since 2009 Aalbers Group / Investments is ouw new owner and our name changed back into Groundservice Groningen Airport, also known as GGA.
